The Jones Museum will be open from noon-5 p.m. on Veteran's Day, the 11th day of the 11th month which was as designated as Armistice Day following the First World War. On display will be military uniforms worn by Jackson County men in the Army in World War I and the Navy in World War II.
Genealogical research pieces will be available including the two-volume Scurlock family military history scrapbook which features more than 25 surnames all related to the Jackson County Scurlock family who have had military service from the Revolutionary War to current active service members. Other scrapbook materials represent the Jenkins and Leedy families as well as newspaper accounts previously compiled and displayed at the former Gibson House.
Veteran Day videos will be shown on the museum's new large smart TV. The 1862 Jackson County military registration forms (recently digitized by the Ohio History Connection) can be viewed and searched as well.
